"Tuned Up" Membership

TUNED UP members have unlimited access to one of TUMG’s first class fishing vessels, for $750 per 24-hour period. Up to four anglers per boat can enjoy the day of fishing, and you can always hire one of our expert guides as needed.

TUNED UP members will also be able to separately rent or purchase the industry’s best rods, reels, and tackle, as well as bait, ice, and water.

Annual Membership Fee Required The annual "Tuned Up" membership fee is $2,500

Two-hour orientation/safety course All members will be required to take a two-hour orientation/safety course, which will be offered twice per month at the Kona Kai.

All Veterans Discount All Veterans will receive a 10% discount on the initial one-time membership fee, and Disabled Veterans qualify for a 20% discount on the initial fee.

"All Tuned Up" Membership

TUMG’s premiere membership gives you the privilege of the ownership experience without the hassles. ALL TUNED UP members enjoy TUMG’S seamless one-stop, TURN KEY fishing experience, which removes and eliminates all the work associated with preparing for a fishing trip. The TURN KEY experience includes a fishing vessel that is fully geared with over $20,000 of professional, top of the line fishing equipment, including custom rods and reels, tackle, gaff, bait nets, cooler, ice, water and bait. The boats will already be stocked and fueled and waiting at the dock, so all that the member has to do is board, turn the key, fire up the engine and take off to go fishing!

"Kona Kai" Membership

Kona Kai guests can enjoy the ownership experience of TUMG, without the annual commitment. Walk down to the docks and head straight out with one of our expert guides. No orientation course required.

One Time Fee Required The "Kona-Kai" membership fee is $1,450. - Turnkey benefit.

Two-hour orientation/safety course Not required for this membership package. A guide will be required to be on the boat at all times to assist all fisherman/women.

All Veterans Discount All Veterans will receive a 10% discount on the initial one-time membership fee, and Disabled Veterans qualify for a 20% discount on the initial fee.

"Walk Up" Membership

Only in town for a day, or new to fishing? Use our “walk-up” package to enjoy a day of guided fishing on our boats. You’ll pay a higher rate, but enjoy all of the privileges of TUMG members. A fishing guide is required for walk-ups, so you don’t need to take the orientation/safety course.

Special Notifications

All Members - Fishing Equipment Members will be able to choose from a variety of fishing rods and reels. Each rental will include up to 8 rods per trip, allowing each of the anglers access to two rods and two reels per person.
* Additional rods and reels may be rented upon request.
While members are responsible for the replacement cost of any lost items, they are not responsible for normal wear and tear.

Two-hour orientation/safety course All members will be required to take a two-hour orientation/safety course, which will be offered twice per month at the Kona Kai. Taught by seasoned captains, the course will include instruction on emergency procedures such as placing mayday calls, deploying an emergency beacon, and deploying a life raft, etc. Members will learn how to use the vessel’s electronics such as the GPS, VHF, and distress call system. This course is mandatory for experienced boaters as well as beginners, because Tuned Up Marine Group takes pride in making member safety our top priority.

After completing a safety course After completing a safety course, members will receive a TUMG membership ID which can be used at the Everingham Brothers Bait Co barge to bill purchases to their account. TUMG members can also show their membership card to receive a 10% discount at the Kona Kai restaurant and or hotel.

Safety course-qualified Members Tuned Up Marine Group members are allowed to take their boats further offshore in Mexican and US waters than any other fishing club in the United States. Unlike other clubs, TUMG members can take any boat as far as 35 miles away from the nearest landmass, (see chart below). Yes, you can go to San Clemente.

We require background checks for all members All members are required to authorize a five-year background check.

Fishing license(s) required Tuned Up Marine Group members are required to possess both a Mexican fishing license and California fishing license, which we will keep on file.

Members are responsible for Members are responsible for any lost or maliciously damaged items. Members are not responsible for normal wear and tear on equipment. Please be mindful when returning your boat, and turn off the batteries.

Members allowed to boat at night Tuned Up Marine Group members are also allowed to boat at night! That is another reason our safety course is a crucial part of our ownership experience. Members need to be well versed in the use of all of the on-board electronics like the radar to safely navigate at night.
